Two monks on the streets of Galle, Srilanka.

Note: I had really liked the striking orange and deep red of the robe against the gray cemented road. Later, I realised there was a road sign for cars that matched the colours on their robes.

Aakanksha is a designer, artist, and the founder of Anomalie/अनॉमली, a one-woman studio exploring the molten space between art and design. Beginning with making web apps in 2008, her practice has looped from paper to screen and back again to the tangible—turning drawings into objects that live off-screen.
At Anomalie/अनॉमली, her drawing and visual art practices are intentionally transmuted onto new materials: from skin-safe transfers to small-batch, limited-edition pieces. The studio’s first flagship project, Anomalie Tattoo Co., is an indie temporary-tattoo brand that collaborates with South Asian artists to translate their artwork into wearable form.
Beyond tattoos, the studio periodically releases experimental editions with artisans and other creatives—celebrating process, craft, and a playful, material-first approach.
